When Going Through a Storm, Keep The Following 3 Things In Mind

Going through a storm is inevitable and very often it can cause our minds to be on overload due to overthinking, stress, anxiety, and fear. If you are currently going through a storm of some kind, please remember the following 3 things.

1. If things get worse, don't worry, things CAN and WILL get better.

When a dilemma comes to mind, I instantly think about the woman with the issue of the blood in the Bible. She suffered that issue for 15 years and to make matters worse, her condition got worse. By the grace of God, she was healed through faith. Very often, we forget that a decline in our circumstances does not necessarily count us out from a miracle; it can actually position us for a supernatural breakthrough.

When things become worse, it is very difficult to see the brighter side of things. But I do hope that the woman with the issue of the blood serves as an invaluable reminder that a worsened condition does not mean "the end" to God.

2. This IS seasonal

The book of Ecclesiastes is a great reminder that there is a season for EVERYTHING! Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 is a promise from God that things can come to an end, good and bad. This applies to the storm that you are facing. While it may feel like it is occurring for several seasons, please rest in the fact that God cannot lie, so your stormy season will turn into a brighter one.

3. Don't hide from God. RUN to Him!

When trouble arises, it is human nature to want to fix things ourselves. This approach is dangerous because when you do not turn to God, you are ultimately fighting your battle alone. Troubles should not push you away from God, they should push you closer to Him. God is the fuel, protector, provider, cheerleader, and your solution. People will fail you but the only one that cannot fail you is God! Running to God can look like literally crying to Him, fasting, praying, singing praise and worship, reading your Bible, listening to a sermon, and more. The more you try to do life without God, the further away you get from God's protection. The enemy's plan is to, "steal, kill, and destroy" (John 10:10) and he does that by making you falsely believe that YOU got this when in reality YOU DON'T.

In the end, I pray that whatever storm you are facing will soon come to an end. I pray that you will experience victory and most importantly; relief soon in Jesus name!
